George Durden
Executive Vice President, Worldwide Engineering
George Durden is Rovi's executive vice president of worldwide engineering.
Mr. Durden joined Rovi in December of 2010 and served as senior vice president of Device Platform Technologies until his promotion in February 2012. Prior to Rovi, Mr. Durden was director of engineering at Microsoft where he was responsible for leading the company's product development teams in the launch of the Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV platform to telco service providers. Before joining Microsoft, Mr. Durden was director of engineering at Scientific Atlanta. While there, he led the company's product development teams in the design and delivery of new IPTV set-top box product lines for telco customers in the United States and Europe. Mr. Durden served as vice president of Global Systems Integration at Liberate Technology where he led the development and delivery of interactive television services to network operators and service providers for use by subscribers worldwide. In addition, he led systems engineering and deployment at BellSouth Entertainment, and systems engineering and project management at Americast. His background includes various development and leadership positions at Dell Computer, IBM and NCR Corporation.
He graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
