Tom Carson is Rovi's president and chief executive officer.
Mr. Carson is Rovi's president, chief executive officer and a member of the Rovi Corporation Board of Directors. Prior to his appointment as chief executive in December 2011, Mr. Carson served as the company's executive vice president, Sales & Marketing, where he was instrumental in expanding the company globally by gaining traction for its new solutions.
Mr. Carson joined Rovi in May 2008, with the acquisition of Gemstar-TV Guide International. At Gemstar, Mr. Carson held key positions, including executive vice president of Sales and Services of Rovi, president of Gemstar's North American Guide business and president for Gemstar-TV Guide On Screen. Prior to his tenure with Gemstar, Mr. Carson held a variety of executive positions at Thomson Corporation, including Executive Vice President of Thomson's Program Office; Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing Services; and Executive Vice President, Patents and Licensing, among other roles.
Mr. Carson holds a B.S. in Business Administration as well as an MBA from Villanova University.
John Burke is executive vice president and chief operating officer for Rovi.
Mr. Burke joined Rovi in March of 2014 as executive vice president and chief operating officer, and is responsible for leading Rovi’s business groups in discovery technologies, including oversight of Product Management, Engineering, Office of the CTO, and Professional Services. Prior to Rovi, Mr. Burke was senior vice president, Corporate Development & Strategy, and president, Cloud Solutions Business at ARRIS Group, Inc. He joined ARRIS in April 2013 through the acquisition of the Motorola Home business from Google, where he served as senior vice president and general manager of the Converged Solutions business. Previously, Mr. Burke worked in various capacities at Motorola, Inc., including senior vice president and general manager of Motorola’s Broadband Home Solutions from 2007 to 2010. Mr. Burke joined Motorola in 2000 with the acquisition of General Instrument Corp., where he spent 15 years in a variety of leadership positions, including vice president and general manager of Data & Voice CPE Solutions.
He holds a B.S. in business administration from The Ohio State University; an MBA from St. Joseph’s University; and attended the Executive Leadership Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business.
Peter Halt is the chief financial officer for Rovi.
Prior to his appointment as Chief Financial Officer in May 2012, Mr. Halt served as the company’s Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer since May 2008 when the acquisition of Gemstar-TV Guide International by the company was completed. Mr. Halt previously served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Accounting Officer at Gemstar from March 2004 to May 2008.
Prior to joining Gemstar, Mr. Halt served in various capacities at Sony Pictures Entertainment, including serving as Chief Financial Officer of Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment from November 2000 to November 2003 and Corporate Controller of Sony Pictures Entertainment from July 1997 to November 2000. Mr. Halt holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Southern California.
Pamela Sergeeff is the executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Rovi.
Pamela Sergeeff has served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Rovi since December 2013. Ms. Sergeeff joined Rovi (then Macrovision Corporation) in 2003. She served as the company’s senior vice president and associate general counsel from March 2011 to December 2013 and as the company’s vice president and associate general counsel from July 2007 to March 2011. Ms. Sergeeff holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. Ms. Sergeeff is a member of the California State bar.
Samir Armaly is Rovi's executive vice president, worldwide intellectual property and licensing.
Mr. Armaly joined Rovi in May 2008, in connection with the acquisition of Gemstar-TV Guide International, and served as senior vice president of Intellectual Property and Licensing at Rovi until his promotion in January 2012. From 2001-2008, Mr. Armaly held various positions at Gemstar in their legal group including executive vice president of IP and Licensing.
Mr. Armaly holds a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Missouri-Columbia.
Michael Buchheim is Rovi's senior vice president, product management.
Mr. Buchheim joined Rovi in 2006 and since that time, has held senior roles in engineering, operations and professional services with the company. In his current role, Mr. Buchheim leads and oversees Rovi’s product management teams worldwide. Prior to Rovi, he was group vice president of Research Business Development at Gartner, Inc. and previous to this, was senior vice president & research director, Technology Research Services for META Group. Mr. Buchheim holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Spring Garden College.
Bill Corry is Rovi's executive vice president, worldwide operations and services.
Mr. Corry joined Rovi in May 2008 in connection with the acquisition of Gemstar-TV Guide International, and served as senior vice president, Worldwide Sales Administration and Business Operations until his promotion in January 2012. At Gemstar, Mr. Corry held the position of senior vice president of Operations and Business Analysis in the North American IPG business. Prior to his tenure with Gemstar, Mr. Corry held a variety of finance and operations positions at Thomson Corporation, including vice president and CFO of Audio, Video and Accessories; general manager controlling of Sales and Marketing Services; and worldwide controller, Audio, Video and Communications, among other roles. Mr. Corry holds a BBA in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University and also holds a CPA license.
George Durden is the executive vice president, chief technology officer for Rovi.
Mr. Durden joined Rovi in December of 2010 and served as senior vice president of Device Platform Technologies until his promotion in February 2012. Prior to Rovi, Mr. Durden was director of engineering at Microsoft where he was responsible for leading the company's product development teams in the launch of the Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV platform to telco service providers. Before joining Microsoft, Mr. Durden was director of engineering at Scientific Atlanta. While there, he led the company's product development teams in the design and delivery of new IPTV set-top box product lines for telco customers in the United States and Europe. Mr. Durden served as vice president of Global Systems Integration at Liberate Technology where he led the development and delivery of interactive television services to network operators and service providers for use by subscribers worldwide. In addition, he led systems engineering and deployment at BellSouth Entertainment, and systems engineering and project management at Americast. His background includes various development and leadership positions at Dell Computer, IBM and NCR Corporation.
He graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
Dustin Finer is executive vice president of Human Resources at Rovi.
Dustin Finer has served as Rovi’s executive vice president of Human Resources since May 2012. Prior to joining Rovi, he was chief of operations and executive vice president at MySpace, where he managed its international business unit, customer experience, business development, human resources, information technologies, administration and facilities groups. Prior to this role at MySpace, he was chief people officer responsible for all HR, IT and administrative functions. Before joining MySpace, Mr. Finer served as senior vice president of Human Resources at Fox Interactive Media, where he led human resources for News Corporation’s digital assets, including MySpace, Fox Audience Network, IGN, Rottentomatoes.com, Photobucket.com, Digital Publishing Group, and Foxsports.com. Mr. Finer also served as senior vice president of Human Resources at Gemstar-TV Guide International, and held a number of senior level roles at Ascent Media Group, including senior vice president of Global Human Resources, associate general counsel and chief litigation counsel.
Mr. Finer holds a Juris Doctorate, Top 10%, Order of the Coif, from McGeorge School of Law and a B.A in Political Science from University of California, San Diego.
Matt Milne is Rovi's executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing.
Mr. Milne joined Rovi in February of 2011 in connection with the acquisition of Sonic Solutions and served as senior vice president, CE Sales until his promotion in January 2012. He joined Sonic through the company’s acquisition of DivX in October of 2010, serving as executive vice president and general manager of DivX products. While at DivX, Mr. Milne was executive vice president of Sales and Marketing.
Prior to joining DivX, Mr. Milne served as senior vice president of Sales and Marketing at MediaFLO USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, where he was responsible for leading strategy, branding, sales, marketing and channel development; and prior to that, he held the position of president of Americas for Viewsonic.
He holds an MBA from Cal State Polytechnic University and a BA in Business from Cal State Fullerton.
John Moakley is EVP of Data Solutions for Rovi Corporation.
He has been with Rovi since May 2008 when the acquisition of Gemstar-TV Guide International by Rovi was completed. From 1999 until May 2008, Mr. Moakley served as senior vice president of data solutions and previously vice president of technology for the Content Infrastructure group at Gemstar. Prior to joining Gemstar, Mr. Moakley was a founding consultant of Compass Consulting Group, a division of Manugistics. He also served as a vice president at the management consulting firm, Herbert W. Davis & Company. Mr. Moakley holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University, and an MBA from Rutgers Graduate School of Management.
