Rovi Search Service allows CE Manufacturers, service providers and developers to differentiate their offerings, drive consumption and revenues by enabling better search and discovery interactions for consumers across multiple platforms and media types. Rovi's Essential and Advanced Search Services combine powerful search algorithms, personalization capabilities and extensive catalogs of entertainment metadata—providing the most accurate and relevant search results possible.

Rovi Search Service is available in two packages:

  • Essential Search - includes media, filtered and predictive search.
  • Advanced Search -  includes personalized search capabilities, editorial and client catalog search as well as merchandise and promotion management

Rovi Search Service is a part of Rovi Cloud Services, a suite of web-based solutions designed to enable the creation of compelling and differentiated entertainment discovery products, services and applications. Rovi Cloud Services components are hosted in redundant data centers in multiple locations around the world, and they support millions of devices and applications developed by Rovi and our key customers.

Essential Search

Media Search
Returns results that match the search terms, including Program or Movie Title, Band or Album Name, Channel, Actor or Artist Name, Genre, Track or Song Title, and more

Predictive Search
Enables "search suggestions" that appear as users type search terms into the search box

Filtered Search
Increases relevance based on a set of parameters, such as Media Type, Genre/Sub-genre, Release Date, Rating or Actor/Artist

Advanced Search

Personalized Search
Displays enhanced search results based on user preferences and profiles

Editorial Search
Returns specific results based on your editorial point of view

Client Catalog Search
Returns results that are only available in your catalog, increasing opportunities for purchase or consumption

Merchandise and Promotion Management
Enables results to promote specific merchandise, ads or sponsored content
