Rovi's i-Guide™ provides an intuitive interactive digital cable TV program guide solution that combines fast, easy-to-use navigation with advanced interactive digital cable TV guide features, allowing service providers to enable digital cable TV subscribers to quickly and easily find and record the TV programs they want to watch.

Using i-Guide cable TV guide, cable operators can:

Facilitate cable TV program search and navigation

  • View cable TV program guide listings and program information for up to 14 days of programming
  • Search for cable TV programs by program category, title, or HD content
  • Easily navigate the cable TV program guide to advanced features such as On Demand, HDTV, and dual-tuner DVR option

Simplify cable TV program recording and management

  • Watch a recorded cable TV program and record up to two other live programs at the same time (in cable systems with advanced DVR boxes)
  • Watch live TV on one channel while recording a separate channel (in cable systems with advanced DVR boxes)
  • Easily access content management features such as Parental Locks and DVR menus from anywhere in the cable TV guide
  • Create multiple Favorites lists

Increase promotion opportunities

  • Enable flexible advertising models, including advertising on-demand
  • Link program advertising directly to a cable TV channel or allow viewers to program a recording or reminders

Listings by Time
Displays 90 minutes listings grid format, instant program information and color-coding to indentify program types: purple – movies; green – sports; light blue – kids; and blue – all other programs.

Quick Menu
Action icons menu provides shortcuts directly to key features such as DVR, HDTV, On Demand, Search and Parental Control.

Main Menu
Detailed menu provides access to all features of i-Guide and cable services including DVR, HDTV, On Demand, Search, Set-up and more.

Program Information
Detailed channel and program information with expandable show description

Reminders
Set a reminder so you don’t miss shows you want to watch.

Flip Bar
The Flip Bar allows you to see program information when changing channels.

Mini Guide Browse
Allows you to watch television and view program listings without leaving the program you are watching.

Search
Search by popular categories like movies, sports and kids, dig deeper by genre, or use the innovative title search utilizing a virtual keyboard to search all available data in the set-top box.

Favorites
Individuals can create up to five unique Favorites Lists.

Parental Controls
Parental Controls restrict viewing of specific programs by TV rating, TV content advisory rating, MPAA rating, program title or channel based on consumer's viewing preferences.

Local Weather
Get accurate, up-to-date local weather conditions and 3-day forecast.

Messages
Messages can be sent from the cable operator to announce new services, special promotions, channel changes or other information.

On Demand
The on demand guide provides cable operators with complete flexibility to design their on menu structures to present a variety of on demand content include new movies releases, subscription video on demand, broadcast and cable networks, original on demand content and more.

DVR (Digital Video Recording)
Control live television with pause, rewind and fast-forward functionality, one-touch record a program or record an entire series. Watch a recorded program while recording two programs at the same time.

Expanded Advertising Opportunities
Multiple display formats and flexible advertising models, including advertising on demand, provide more options for advertisers.
