- Q: Why aren't all my channels displayed in Listings?
Answer: During initial setup and search the TV Guide On Screen system scans for video on each channel. If the video is detected and the channel is included in the lineup information the channel should be displayed. If not:
- There was no discernable video on the channel during the initial search. Turn the channel ON in the "CHANNEL EDITOR".
- The channel is not included in the TV Guide On Screen listings data. Local and Public access channels are examples of the type of stations that may not be listed in the TV Guide on Screen system.

- Q: I completed the initial set-up, but the Listings, Search and/or the Channel Editor screen tells me TV Guide On Screen is still collecting information and to check again later. What's wrong?
Answer: There are two possibilities:
- There has been a loss of power either from a power failure or because your TV Guide On Screen product was unplugged for an extended period of time.
- The TV Guide On Screen system has not yet received its first listings transmission (leave your TV Guide On Screen device OFF when not in use).

- Q: Why do some of my channels display "No Listing," “Listings Pending,” or “Title Unavailable?”
Answer: There are several possibilities:
- The channels in question were recently turned ON (in the Channel Editor screen) and TV Guide On Screen has yet to receive its first listings transmission.
- After completing the initial set-up, the first listings transmission of the day was interrupted by powering the product ON or by a power failure.
- After completing the initial set-up, the first listings transmission of the day was interrupted by a scheduled recording. (This only applies to cable/satellite box set-up.)
- The TV Guide On Screen product was left powered ON for an extended period of time and TV Guide On Screen was unable to receive updated program listings during normal host transmission cycles.
- During the first listings transmission, the primary host station (which transmits the data) was down or off line for part or all of the day.
- Poor reception on the host station caused some of the data to be missed.
- The cable/satellite box was turned OFF. Remember: The TV Guide On Screen product must be OFF and the cable/satellite box must remain ON.
- The VCR was turned OFF. If the connection includes a cable/satellite box to VCR, stereo/AV cable connection from VCR to television then the VCR must be powered ON.

- Q: Why do some of my channels display "Turned Off?"
Answer: The channel has been turned OFF in the Channel Editor screen.

- Q: Can I have the Listings screen appear automatically when I power On the device?
Answer: Yes, to use the auto-Guide feature, highlight Setup, then “Change Default Optons.” Choose “General Defaults” and set the “auto guide” option to “on.”

- Q: How long does it take to receive updated program information?
Answer: TV Guide On Screen data is transmitted at varying times, usually four times per day, and the cycles last approximately three (3) hours. The TV Guide On Screen system only requires one transmission a day to maintain up-to-date program listings. Because the product must be powered off in order to receive new information, multiple transmissions are conveniently scheduled during morning and early afternoon hours.

- Q: How often is program information updated?
Answer: Updated program information usually can be received by the TV Guide On Screen system four times a day. Set-up information is transmitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Answer: Use the "CHANNEL EDITOR" to make adjustments.

- Q: If a channel is displayed on my TV Guide On Screen listing, does that mean I should be able to watch it?
Answer: Not necessarily, because TV Guide On Screen only displays listings for the local channel line-up. If you have cable or satellite service, the channels received are determined by your service provider.

- Q: Why doesn't my favorite channel have more information in the Information Box or Expanded Information Box?
Answer: The hardware that makes TV Guide On Screen possible is a computer chip that has limited storage space. Factors used in determining which programs display detailed program information are number of channels turned ON and availability of descriptions.

- Q: Why are some of my broadcast or cable channels not listed on the "CHANNEL EDITOR" screen?
Answer: Presently, TV Guide On Screen does not list all channels in any given broadcast area. As a result, channels are selected primarily on a "majority rules" basis. Channels with the highest potential viewership are given top priority. Availability of program listings is separate consideration (see Question 9).

- Q: Why are some of my channels listed on the wrong number?
Answer: There are several possibilities:
- Initial set-up was done incorrectly. (i.e., You entered the wrong country, ZIP/Postal Code or chose an incorrect antenna, cable, or satellite channel lineup.) To correct this, go to the TV Guide On Screen Main Menu Bar, highlight Setup and choose "Change system settings".
- Your service provider has not yet informed industry sources of their channel line-up changes. (Use the Channel Editor feature to make adjustments).
- You are receiving broadcasts through a modified or boosted antenna system or satellite dish. Use the Channel Editor feature to make adjustments

- Q: Why doesn't the program highlighted match up with the video window on my TV screen?
Answer: There are several possibilities:
- The video window is locked, in which case it always displays the channel you were watching when you opened the Guide. Highlight Listings, then press the Menu button to change the setting to unlocked.
- If the window is already unlocked, either:
- Incorrect program listing information was transmitted to the TV Guide On Screen system.
- The station in question made a late change to its scheduled program listing and the TV Guide On Screen system has not yet been updated.
- You are receiving broadcasts through a modified or boosted antenna system or a satellite dish. Use the Channel Editor feature to make adjustments.

- Q: I get two stations on the same channel, for example, BRAVO in the morning and CSPN2 in the evening. Why is only BRAVO listed?
Answer: Channels like these are called "Split" channels. When a "Split" channel occurs only one channel is usually displayed by default. Use the CHANNEL EDITOR, if you want to have both channels displayed.

- Q: Why was that movie listed as a three star (***) movie? Who provides these ratings?
Answer: All listing information, including movie ratings, is provided by sources in the broadcast industry.
