If supported by your product, you will be able to use the TV Guide On Screen show listings to easily schedule recordings to an external VCR. When you select this option, the setup screens ask you to:
- Confirm the external connections
- Select the VCR brand
- Confirm your settings
Note: To navigate the setup screens with your remote control:
- Press ▲/▼/◄/► to highlight selections.
- Press OK to select (or clear) the highlighted option.
- Press INFO to display Help information the setup screen.

Setup Screens: Configure a VCR (Optional)
1. Set up VCR
- "Yes, set up VCR control" – opens Screen 2.
Note: If you selected more than one service in initial setup you may be asked to select which service is connected to your VCR prior to going to Screen 2.
- "No, end setup" – opens Screen 7.
2. Configure VCR Remote Control
Enter information to let the TV Guide On Screen system know how you change channels with your VCR remote control. Then go to Screen 3.
3. Connection Diagram
Verify your connections and go to Screen 4.
4. Select VCR Brand
Select your VCR brand and go to Screen 5.
5. Instruction Screen
Follow the on-screen instructions. When you press OK the Guide tests the remote control code. When the test is complete, the Guide automatically displays Screen 6.

6. Confirm Tuning Complete
Select your answer:
"Yes" – opens Screen 7.
"No" – Guide tests an alternate code.
"Test this code again" – Guide retests current code.
Note: You may need to test several codes.

Review the information and press OK to close setup and watch TV.

Important: In order to begin to receive your listings, power the product OFF when not in use. Within 24 hours, you will begin to receive TV show listings. It may take up to six days to receive the full eight days of initial show listings.
Leave the satellite box or cable box ON to ensure you always receive the most updated listings information. It is normal for the box to change channels while the TV is Off and the Guide is setting up or receiving new data.
Leave your VCR OFF when you schedule recordings.
